Adoption Process: How to Adopt a Rescue Weimaraner
Adopting a Weimaraner is a simple process, below are the steps towards adopting your new Weim:
- Submit our online Application Form and one of our volunteers will contact you within 48 hours of your submission. If you do not hear from one of our volunteers within that time PLEASE call 561-309-3311.
- A vet reference is done.
- A home visit is performed by one of our volunteers.
- The staff goes over your application and we work to find which dog will best fit your family.
- An appointment is set for you to come and visit with the Weimaraners that are best suited for you and your family, you will usually have a few to pick from that will best be suited for your family. If you currently have a dog, it is best that you bring your dog to meet its potential playmate.
- If the Weimaraner is ready for adoption (all vet care is completed and you and your family are ready for the Weim) then the Weimaraner can go home with your family that day. If the Weimaraner chosen that is fit for you and/or your family is not ready to be adopted, a hold will be placed on the Weimaraner until it’s ready to be released.
- Adoption fees range from $250 to $400, depending on the age and health of the Weim. Puppies usually range from $400 to $550 depending on the breed. All Weimaraners are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and micro chipped. We try and send each Weim home with one month’s supply of Heartgard Plus, one month’s supply of Frontline Plus, and a sample of Kirkland's Lamb and Rice Dog Food, all depending on the supplies we have on hand.
We are a 501(c)3 Non-profit Organization devoted to saving the lives of unwanted Weimaraners.
The Weimaraner Rescue and Adoption of Florida is located in a gated community and visits by applicants are by invitation only and apointments may be made after the application form has been reviewed, and the home visit and vet check are completed.
Please help us to find loving homes for these amazing Weimaraners. Adopt a Weim.
